We have been learning how to describe people, places and things.
Remember to:
- Use vivid adjectives
- Use similes, metaphors and hyperboles (exaggerated statements)
- Use emotive language (words and phrases that make the reader feel strongly)
Her warm, brown eyes, were framed by long black lashes. They always sparkled with laughter or in amazement. Her smile was as big as the moon and as bright as the stars and when she smiled directly at you, you felt like you were the most important person on earth. Her latte coloured skin was as smooth as a pebble, that has been washed up on a beach after a thousand years in the water. Her soft curls, the colour of dark chocolate, frame her friendly face and hung down her back in a thick braid. She was tall and fit, with long muscular arms and legs. This was because she loved to swim every day. She spoke in a beautiful sing-song voice that charmed everyone who heard it and when she sang, it was like the angels themselves were singing.
