Light and Shadows

Room 21 have been learning about shadows this week by drawing around our body outlines at different times during the day.

Some of us thought that the sun moves across the sky during the day but we now know it only looks like that because the earth is spinning.

We found out that the Sun makes longest shadows at the 
beginning and end of the day, when the Sun is lowest in the 
sky.

The Sun makes the shortest shadows at 12 pm when the 

Sun is highest in the sky.

We now know that a shadow is made when on object blocks out a light. This could be the sun, a touch, or any sort of artificial light.
